Preparing For Godly Dominion

Introduction:
* God has a destiny for your life. (Jer.1: 4-5)
* Destiny will require your discipline.
* Discipline will lead to dominion -Gen.1:26-28

I. Obeying God means Obeying His Word:
* “Be careful to …….. all the law… that you may be …………………..”
Josh.1:7
* “ ….………… my commands and you will …….….…..
Prov.7:2
* “I have come down from ……… , …to do the will
of ……. who sent me.” Jn.6:38
* All scripture is ……. -breathed, and is useful for ……………,
…………….., ……………..
and ………………. in righteousness.” II
Tim.3:16

II. Obeying God requires our Submission to People:
* In the family- Ex.20:12; Luke 2:51-52; Eph.5:21-24; 6:1-4
* In the church- Heb.13: 17
* In the workplace- Eph.6: 5-9
* In the community/nation-Ro.13:1-2; Tit.3:1

III. Disobedience leads to Dispossession:
* God will not bless everybody. Deut.28: 45-48; Prov.3:33; Lam.1:1.
* The future for the disobedient is very limited. Ps.37:1-2, 9-11; Ps.55:23
* “The wicked will be cut off from the land.” Prov.2:22

IV. The Pathway to Dominion Inevitably Requires:
* God’s maturing processes- Phil.1:6; 2:13
* Growth in patience- Heb.6:11-15
* Inconvenience -Jn.13:3-5; 19:28
* Humbling circumstances- Phil.2:8; 4:12
* Opposition or persecution -II Tim.3:12
* Pain/suffering/distress- I Sam.30:3-6; Mat.27:46; Heb.5:7

V. Godly Obedience, Inevitably Leads to Dominion:
* Cultural development requires leadership. God wants His people to lead -Deut.28:1
* Godly leadership requires a servant’s attitude. Luke 22:24-27; Phil.2:5-7
* “Those that would rise up and rule, must first learn to stoop and serve.”
Matthew Henry, (1710).
* “Power flows to those who take responsibility.” (Gary North)
* Because of His obedience, Jesus now has all authority. Mat. 28:16

Conclusion:
* Obeying God, and dominion, are inextricably linked in scripture.

good of the land.” Isa.1:19.

for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the ….………………”
